Joy to all foodies! Adrian Quetglas has opened a restaurant where he acts as both head chef and co-owner. He chose to go the “Bistronomy “ course: personal approach, simple dishes, interesting combinations of ingredients, added an emphasis on local ingredients and got the equation that makes a restaurant successful here and now exactly right. As a true pioneer with his own recognizable style, Adrian has been playing with these ideas for quite some time, but can finally fully bring them to life in AQ (the letters stand for the chef’s initials as you might have already guessed) kitchen’s brief but comprehensive menu.

The interior of the restaurant is understated but at the same time very sunny and welcoming, with great attention to detail that you notice them the moment you walk through the deliberately shabby, vintage door: wooden wine boxes, iron canisters and chandeliers made of wine corks. Though eye-catching, they do not distract from the main event – the kitchen. The menu includes elements of various world cuisines in the chef’s own interpretation. The plating is unconventional but without excess. You’d want to stop by here for a quick business lunch or spend a cozy evening chatting with a girlfriend, while breaking off pieces of warm, aromatic bread and strolling to check out how the magic happens in the open kitchen with a glass of wine in your hand. It’s soulful and trendy at the same time – a rare but much appreciated mix.

We recommend: AQ- poultry pate with caramelized apples; Eco-salad with eel and saffron-yoghurt dressing; steamed dorado with quinoa, broccoli and olive oil sauce and “Cuba Libre” for dessert.

Cuisine: original

Atmosphere: relaxed/trendy

The crowd: foodies, expats, trendsetters, “white collars” from neighboring offices.

Key info: There have been promises of chef’s table and gastronomic sets in the near future.
