Chopsuey Café at Dempsey Hill with it’s tropical garden terrace feels almost like a surreal oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of the big city. This bright space with colonial style interior features dark wooden floors, high ceilings, large windows and rattan chairs, while the atmosphere is buzzy and hip. The menu is a mix of Cantonese cuisine with a modern twist and contemporary yet authentic Asian cuisine featuring plenty of vegetarian options with an interesting mix of ingredients.

Dim sums come with various fillings, while the vegetarian dishes will impress any meat-loving gourmet: we highly recommend to look into the Tofu & Vegetables section of the menu. Chopsuey Café is also known to serve the best brunch in town. Chicken, marinated with ginger and honey, will simply melt in your mouth, while the BBQ beef ribs, prepared with pepper and 5 other type of spices are definitely worth crossing the ocean for.

Cuisine: Contemporary Chinese/Asian.

We recommend: spicy sesame edamame; spicy mushroom dumplings; lobster dim sum; seared prawn & spinach dumplings; chargrilled octopus; smoked duck & lychee salad; tingling chilli jam prawns; charred chicken rice noodles; szechuan pepper chilli tofu; and giant salted caramel profiterole with vanilla bean ice cream for dessert.

Crowd: sophisticated locals and international gourmets.

Key info: the vegetarian dishes are marked with V, while VM identifies dishes that can be modified.
