Located in Fondazione Prada and designed by film director Wes Anderson, Bar Luce recreates the atmosphere of a typical Milanese cafè, dating back to the 1950s and 60s. The interiors have been adorned floor-to-ceiling with details, that together, they translate the director’s whimsical, and kitch style into a playful setting. Sherbet colored formica furniture is arranged around the casual setting, and complemented with a retro juke box and steve zissou pinball machine.

Meanwhile, visual focus has been placed on the wood-paneled and patterned wallpaper, which subtly leads the eye up to the arched ceiling, replicating the symbolic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele’s roof in Milan. By imagining a place he would comfortably write a movie and spend his ‘non-fictional afternoons in’, Wes Anderson has realized a space where the public can experience one of his film sets, while enjoying a Milanese spritz, good coffee and delicious paninis.

FYI: The bar can be accessed directly from Via Orobia.
