Opened in 1887, Raffles Singapore is one of the few remaining great 19th century hotels in the world. Till today, its architecture is perfectly preserved both inside and out, giving it an intoxicating blend of luxury, history and classic colonial design. Within its walls are more than a hundred expansive suites, framed by polished teak verandahs and white marble colonnades, clustered around lush tropical gardens. Each is serviced by the legendary Raffles butlers and offers every modern convenience necessary.

Raffles Singapore has recently undergone a careful and sensitive restoration and has fully reopened on 1 August 2019. The restoration of Raffles Singapore is designed to ensure that it retain what is so special about Raffles – the ambience, the service, the charm and the heritage of the hotel. It is also designed for Raffles Singapore to stay relevant and distinctive by moving with the times and with its guests and adapting to the changing needs of the well-travelled and Singapore’s community.

Beyond the interior design, all 115 of the beautifully restored suites at Raffles Hotel Singapore are now updated and outfitted with new amenities and state-of-the-art technology to keep up with the needs of discerning travellers while maintaining the sense of space and colonial ambience.

In a nod to its heritage, the suites have retained the mechanical switches that whisper to the hotel’s colonial past. The suites have also preserved their colonial architectural splendour, along with the original 14-foot ceiling, lofty double-glazed windows, charming verandahs and polished teakwood floors. The ensuite bathrooms have been redesigned with beautiful Victorian details and Peranakan tiles as an homage to Singapore’s rich culture. Many of the in-room niceties are also custom-made and specially designed for Raffles Hotel Singapore.

The Raffles is part of Singapore’s history. The world’s most illustrious politicians, diplomats and artists have stayed here. Numerous writers have praised the luxurious virtues and incomparable charm of the hotel including Somerset Maugham, Rudyard Kipling and Ernest Hemingway to mention just a few.

Rooms start from $750 per night.
