The Chelsea Market, home to numerous cafes, pastry shops, cheesemongers, and wine sellers, is located inside the former National Biscuit Company building, where the Oreo cookie was invented and first produced. It's a lovely place to spend a few hours, and most importantly you won't leave hungry!

The market occupies a two-block strip of the bustling Meatpacking District, not far from the High Line and The Standard hotel. Its neighbors include TV and radio broadcasters, record companies, Google, and even YouTube, so the concentration of creative minds is pretty staggering.

The market's popularity has skyrocketed over the years, and while it still has a great atmosphere, it can get super crowded in the evening. Regardless, it's definitely worth a visit. We recommend coming in the morning and staying for lunch at The Lobster Place, a Vanderlust favorite.

Key info: Grab sushi, sashimi and a bottle of white wine in the market and head over to the High Line for a picnic with fresh air and a gorgeous view of the Hudson River.
